This page contains information about the Siege of Ironforge in the mobile computer game Warcraft Rumble.

The detail level of this page is not very high because my main account has progressed far beyond what is needed for completing Siege of Ironforge. I might revisit this page if I can bring myself to level my alt account to 90 Sigils (which are required to be able to play Sieges and Raids).

Summary

Siege of Ironforge consists of 3 bosses / maps:

  • The Thiefcatchers. Reward = 200 Valor.
  • Gelbin Mekkatorque. Reward = Rare-O-Matic.
  • Magni Bronzebeard. Reward = Wildcard Army Slot.

This is the list of leaders that I am currently using to beat the bosses:

  • Tirion or Grommash => The Thiefcatchers
  • Cenarius => Gelbin Mekkatorque
  • Tirion or Drakkisath => Magni Bronzebeard

A few general notes for Siege of Ironforge

  • None of the bosses has a board-wide mechanic, which means that deathball strategies are quite effective.
  • However all bosses have spells that are effective against swarming strategies and death balls that are too large, so players should bring minis that are a bit sturdy.

The Thiefcatchers

Armies

Army 1: Tirion

  • Witch Doctor
  • Abomination
  • Holy Nova
  • SAFE Pilot
  • Frostwolf Shaman
  • Goblin Sappers

Army 2: Grommash

  • Pyromancer
  • Chimaera
  • Darkspear Troll
  • Witch Doctor
  • Goblin Sappers
  • Frostwolf Shaman

Strategy

  • There are 3 lanes: One on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right. Each lane is protected by a tower.
  • A reckless strategy is to just push the middle lane and brute-force your way through all the phases. This requires a lot of DPS, though.
  • A safer strategy is to take all 3 towers to counter the armies that spawn at phase changes.
  • There are 3 bosses:
    • When the first boss dies: 6 Armored Gryphon Riders spawn.
    • When the second boss dies there is the first phase change: 22 Defias Bandits spawn from all sides.
    • When the third boss dies there is the second phase change: Mines spawn all over the board that stun and damage ground minis
  • Some general army notes:
    • The AI has Polymorph with the explosion talent, which means you should not bring too many small minis to the battle.
    • Flying units are good because they are not affected by the mines that are placed all over the floor in phase 3 of the battle.

Gelbin Mekkatorque

Armies

Armies 1 + 2: Cenarius

  • Dark Iron Miner
  • Faerie Dragon
  • Abomination (with Poison talent)
  • Witch Doctor
  • Whelp Eggs
  • Plague Farmer

Strategy

  • There are 3 lanes: One on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right. The left and right lanes are protected by a tower, the middle lane only has a meeting stone.
  • The safest strategy is to capture both towers and spawn attacks from them, to avoid getting Living Bomb'ed. Try to keep the boss poisoned with Plague Farmer and Abomination.
  • Phase 1: You must first kill the chickens before you can attack the boss.
  • When the chickens die in phase 1 as well as at each phase change, a tram arrives from which many bombs will spawn:
    • Chickens die + phase 1>2: Normal bombs spawn
    • Phase 2>3: Small and big bombs spawn
    • Phase 3>4: Small and flying bombs spawn
    • Bombs will walk towards a target and explode on contact. If killed before contact a bomb does not deal any damage.
  • The boss gains 5 seconds of immunity at each phase change
  • Phase 2>3: Boss heals to full
  • Some general army notes:
    • The AI has Living Bomb, which means you should not bring too many small minis to the battle.
    • Anti-bomb measures are Cenarius (roots bombs in place), Witch Doctor (kills several bombs at once), Whelp Eggs (bombs kill the eggs but players get to keep the Whelps) and Abomination (soaks up bomb damage).

Magni Bronzebeard

Armies

Army 1: Tirion

  • Holy Nova
  • Gryphon Rider
  • Fire Elemental
  • Chimaera
  • Witch Doctor
  • Dark Iron Miner

Army 2: Drakkisath

  • Pyromancer
  • Dark Iron Miner
  • Frostwolf Shaman
  • Witch Doctor
  • Chimaera
  • Plague Farmer

Strategy

  • There is a central platform on which a special Fire Elemental is patrolling around a gold chest. The Fire Elemental has a long range AoE attack, which it uses to great effect from its elevated position. The most important thing therefore is to kill the Fire Elemental as soon as possible. Drakkisath is well suited for this task because of his resistance to elemental damage. The Fire Elemental periodically respawns, so players should keep a Drakkisath ready to keep it suppressed.
  • On both sides of the platform there are two towers each (4 in total) which should be taken once the Fire Elemental is gone. Once the towers are taken, start pushing from two sides to avoid getting Living Bomb'ed.
  • Phase changes
    • 1>2: Two Mountaineer bears and many Mountaineer dwarves spawn.
    • 2>3: Many Mountaineer dwarves spawn and the boss starts throwing his hammer at the player base.
  • Some general army notes:
    • The AI has Living Bomb, which means you should not bring too many small minis to the battle.
