Discussion:

• To find out the values for the "Device Model" and "Serial Number" columns, run the smartctl command for the disk.
• For some disks smartctl fails to autodetect the device type - for these disks the -d option must be added, otherwise smartctl will report that the "device lacks SMART capability". For more details on SMART see the corresponding section on the Disk Maintenance wiki page.
