This page contains information about Domains in the computer game Genshin Impact. Domains that are covered on this page are those that reward the player with weapon ascension materials (aka Domains of Forgery), character talent materials (Domains of Mastery) and artifacts (Domains of Blessing). Boss domains (aka Trounce Domains) are covered on the wiki page GenshinBosses.

The detail notes for each domain on this page were taken at a time where I was still struggling to clear the highest level of some domains. I only had Diluc as main DPS and Barbara as healer, but combining these with Kazuha and a fourth character (Pyro, Hydro or Electro) I was able to beat most of the content. After I built Yaoyao as an alternative healer to Barbara, I managed to beat Forsaken Rift, albeit with anguish. Eventually I got Zhongli - he was the last puzzle piece for easily clearing all of the domains.

Team

  • At the highest level, do not use Hydro! Or at least make sure that you don't apply Hydro to yourself - Hydro self-application will guarantee that you're frozen by the falling icicles and/or the enemies, which on the highest level is the signature on your death warrant.
  • Team 1: Xiangling, Kazuha, Fischl, Yaoyao
    • Originally I used Barbara in this team, but to beat the domain's highest level I had to replace her with Yaoyao to avoid death-warranting freezes.
  • Team 2: Xiangling, Kazuha, Yaoyao, Zhongli
    • With this team and the most important talents leveled to 8 or higher, the domain becomes trivial. Yaoyao could possibly be replaced with Fischl, but I prefer 100% security over a few seconds additional speed.


Strategy

  • Enemies

  • Leyline disorders
    • Stamina consumption greatly increased
    • Falling icicles deal Cryo DMG
  • Characters are continously frozen and amaged by the falling icicles.
  • Because of the stamina debuff, dashing aside to evade is possible only so many times - at some time all of the stamina is used up!
  • Level 3 was beatable without too much difficulties, but level 4 (the highest level) was much more difficult.
  • In general, stay mobile but try not to dash.


Hints which I picked up from watching videos, but didn't use myself:

  • Use shield => Diona seems to be the best. Noelle could be ok, too.
  • Geo can make use of Cryo-Crystallize => Geo traveler
  • Use Bennett => Clears Cryo and therefore removes Stamina drain debuff
  • Spam Energy Recharge on Xiangling, then use her alt to break shields quickly
  • Many recommend Electro => Fischl


Taishan Mansion (Talent)

      • 2x Blazing Axe Mitachurl

  • Leyline disorders
    • Periodically apply Pyro => Take Pyro damage
  • The Mitachurls can be easily dispatched. Take enough time to gather enough energy so that Elemental Bursts are ready for the second wave.
  • Use Kazuha to group and stagger the Pyro Agents so that they don't get a chance to execute their devastating attacks. In general, simply use all bursts and in-between use Kazuha's Elemental Skill.
  • If in doubt, keep moving so that the agents don't find the time to home in on you.


Steeple of Ignorance (Talent)

  • I haven't recorded any specific team. I mostly use quick-swap teams with many elemental reactions, so this domain in general is very easy for me even at the hhighest level.


Strategy:

  • Only one wave of enemies
    • 1x Ruin Drake: Earthguard
    • 1x Ruin Drake: Skywatch
  • Leyline disorders
    • Dealing elemental DMG will increase the overall party damage
    • Use party with multiple elements
  • Any quick-swap team with elemental reactions should do.

      • Time between kills <= 50 seconds
      • 14x Hydro Slimes

      • 1x Hydro Abyss Mage
    • Level 4
      • Wave 1
        • Time between kills <= 40 seconds
        • 8x Large Hydro Slimes
      • Wave 2
        • Time between kills <= 80 seconds
        • 2x Hydro Abyss Mage
  • Leyline disorders
    • Skill and Burst cooldowns greatly increased.
  • The main difficulty are the Mist Bubble auras
    • Level 3: One of the Hydro Abyss Mages.
    • Level 4: One of the Large Hydro Slimes + one of the Hydro Abyss Mages.
  • Focus on the aura-carrying enemies.
  • 4 Bubbles spawn in 12 second intervals.
  • When character crosses gap between 2 bubbles another 4 bubbles appear.
  • Bubbles disappear when hit by an attack => AoE effects are great to get rid of them.


Court of Flowing Sands (Weapon Ascension)

  • Overall a very easy domain.

  • Leyline disorders
    • Engulfing Storm, sapping energy
  • Prioritize the two Electro Cicin Mages. For some reason they are relatively easy to deal with, even when they use their Supercharged Shield attack.
  • Use Elemental Bursts whenever they become available.
  • Otherwise just use Elemental Skills when they’re off cooldown.


Echoes of the Deep Tides (Weapon Ascension)

Midsummer Courtyard (Artifacts)

Teams

  • Don't use Electro Characters, because the enemies constantly get an Electro RES buff from a construct in the middle of the arena.
  • Team 1: Diluc, Kazuha, Xiangling, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Wave 1
    • 5x Electro Slime
    • The slimes are not very dangerous, even if it takes some time you should be able to DPS them down eventually.
      • One of the slimes has an aura (Engulfing Storm) which depletes the Energy of the active character.
    • Even if something goes wrong, the healer (Barbara) should be able to easily recover.
    • Make sure that Elemental Bursts are ready towards the end of the wave.
  • Wave 2
    • 2x Electro Cicin Mage
    • One of the mages has an aura (Lightning Bolt Matrix) which generates Electro bolts every 12 seconds.
    • The best strategy is to concentrate on one of the mages and kill it as fast as possible.
      • It's not yet clear whether it is better to kill the mage with the aura first.
    • Danger with Diluc's burst: If the mage you are concentrating on is hurled into a corner by the burst, but does not die, then if you follow the enemy you may get cornered yourself by the two mages. To avoid this, trigger the burst so that it goes off into the direction of a simple wall.


Momiji-Dyed Court (Artifacts)

Teams:

  • Don’t bring Electro because enemies are electro-infused.
  • Team 1: Diluc, Kazuha, Xiangling, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Only one wave of enemies
    • 2x Electro Slime
    • 1x Thunderheim Lawachurl
    • 1x Electro Abyss Mage
  • Leyline disorder
    • Stand on one of the colored fields to get the corresponding damage bonus.
    • The blue/red field gives Hydro/Pyro DMG bonus.
  • The bonus is not really relevant, the domain can be done easily without it.
  • Kill the slimes and the Abyss Mage while evading the Lawachurl’s attacks.
  • After all others are dead, focus on the Lawachurl.


Valley of Remembrance (Artifacts)

Teams:

  • This was one of the most difficult artifact domains for me to master at the highest level. I finally beat the highest level after a general leveling-up round. Although Diluc/Xiangling died in the first attempt, I was able to finish the domain with Kazuha and Barbara. After I noticed how effective Barbara’s Elemental Burst is, I tried switching from Diluc to Xingque, and this indeed seemed to work better. Especially Xiangling’s Elemental Burst suddenly seemed to have become much more powerful - possibly due to also switching to The Catch.
  • Team 1: Xingque, Kazuha, Xiangling, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Only one wave of enemies
  • Leyline disorder
    • Player has 75% Physical Damage buff, enemies have decreased Physical Damage RES.
  • Concentrate on the mage and kill it as fast as possible.
  • While doing this, never stand still, so that the Fatui Pyro Agent never gets a chance to hit.


Other notes:

  • Bring Geo to get a shield that reduces damage - there are both close and long range attackers, the shield avoids damage while being able to focus on either one of the two types of enemies.
  • In a YT video the recommendation is to bring the Anemo traveller and Pyro such as Xiangling at AR 45.


Spire of Solitary Enlightenment (Artifacts)

  • Team 1: Diluc, Kazuha, Fischl, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Only one wave of enemies
    • 3 Eremite enemies
  • Leyline disorder
    • EM is increased by 10% of the entire party’s combined EM
  • Group enemies with Kazuha, then use Diluc’s elemental skill and/or burst to hit the entire group
  • The 3 enemies use Cryo, Electro and Hydro. Because Cryo can cause freeze and this is utterly annoying, the Cryo enemy should be killed first.


Slumbering Court (Artifacts)

  • Best elements are Electro + Hydro to trigger Electro-Charged.
  • Use characters with high level + high EM.

- Team 1: Xingqiu (using him is easier than with Xiangling), Fischl, Kazuha, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Enemies
    • Wave 1
      • 5x Thundercraven Rifthound Whelp
    • Wave 2
      • 2x Thundercraven Rifthound Whelp
      • 1x Thundercraven Rifthound
      • 1x Crackling Axe Mitachurl
  • Leyline disorder
    • Player gets 40% Electro DMG bonus
    • Electro-Charged (Electro + Hydro) reactions trigger shockwave that does True DMG to opponents
      • Electro-Charged occurs when Electro + Hydro are applied at the same time => The reaction does not consume the element!
      • To take advantage of the shockwave, Electro + Hydro must not be consumed by other reactions => Don’t bring Pyro or Cryo characters. Unclear: Anemo/Swirl?
  • Stand in a corner so that the first wave of whelps comes to you, then quickly dispatch them. Alternatively Kazuha may be able to group them anywhere in the arena.
  • In wave 2 the big Rifthound should be killed as fast as possible.


Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula (Artifacts)

Teams

  • Don't use Electro (on level 3) or Pyro (on level 4) characters, because the enemies constantly get an Electro/Pyro RES buff from a construct in the middle of the arena.
  • Electro may not be a good choice on level 4 either, because of Overload reactions your own characters may get damaged. In one instance, Fischl died on me.
  • The best for both level 3 and 4 is Cryo - unfortunately I have no built Cryo character.
  • Team 1: Xingqiu, Yaoyao, Kazuha, Barbara


Strategy:

  • Only one "wave" of enemies
    • 2x Pyro Slime
    • 2x Blazing Axe Mitachurl
    • 2x Pyro Abyss Mage
    • Defeat opponents within 60 seconds, with time being added after each kill
    • Enemies don’t appear all together, when you kill an enemy the next one appears
  • Leyline disorder
    • Melt => AoE damage to enemies
    • Overloaded => AoE damage to my characters
  • The most difficult part is killing the first slime to get additional time => freely use Elemental Bursts!
  • As usual, the Mitachurls are quite easy to defeat => no bursts needed for them
  • Last time I tried I also didn’t have much problems with the Abyss Mages => try to group them together with Kazuha, then Xingque/Barbara will make short work of their shields. Once the shields are down Kazuha can keep them perma-stunned.
  • Overall, make sure to heal up with the bursts of Yaoyao and Barbara.


Ridge Watch (Artifacts)

Strategy:

  • Only one wave of enemies
    • 1x Geovishap (Hydro)
    • 1x Geovishap (Electro)
  • Leyline Disorder
    • When player characters with a shield are hit there is a shockwave that deals damage to enemies
  • I don’t need the bonus from the Leyline disorder - simply kill the two Geovishaps. This is a very easy domain.
